Leeway Productions are developing a new piece of theatre born from conversations director Angharad Lee has had with some incredible single mothers.

The piece will be verbatim in essence, bringing real voices and experiences to the heart of the work, with an original score by composer and musician Lleuwen Steffan.

Leeway are looking for a group of women to contribute to the R&D process as Angharad and Lleuwen begin to shape and explore the theatrical landscape of the piece.

Together, the group will help us:

• Explore how the score, script and original interviews can come together on stage.
• Interrogate the themes, ideas and experiences at the heart of the work.
• Test and challenge elements of the script, helping to shape its development.
• Explore different theatrical approaches to telling these stories.
• Experiment with music, voice, text and performance.
• Share your own perspectives, responses and instincts to help us understand what resonates — and what doesn’t.

We are particularly interested in hearing from women who are mothers, and who feel able to bring their experiences, perspectives and curiosity into a creative room.

This is a collaborative and exploratory process. There will be space to question, play, experiment, reflect and share, as we work together to discover what this piece could become.

Your voice, experience and perspective will help shape the work from the very beginning.

We are looking for 5 women.  We are looking for a few Welsh speakers also, so if you are fluent or a learner please get in touch. You must have good vocals and acting through song capabilities. You do not have to be trained singers. These roles are actor led but require some musicianship.
