Futures made of virtual insanity. An interactive musical theatre virtual reality journey.

Born from our 10 Minute Musicals project, this is a new collaboration between Francois Pandolfo and Jason Phillips, directed by Angharad Lee and now with the divine compositions of Branwen Munn. Our creative associate Joanne Thomas takes on the role of Woman.

 

In a world where we must find ways of transcending our own existence, how can we create a theatrical experience which is of woman but for everyone? How do we reframe the gaming experience to reach out to the women in our communities and remind them that they are all extraordinary?

Bev Can Leave is a first of its kind. An interactive musical theatre virtual reality journey, putting music and voice at the heart of a narrative 360 VR film.

The project will investigate a hybrid or new genre of musical theatre storytelling, performance and sound design, using gaming, non-linear scripting and FMV (full motion video) techniques and technology.

The project has the ability to take an audience in passive deactivation mode, close the gap of disengagement and create a very active participation, complete with choices, will and curiosity.

Angharad elaborates: “The monotony of structures at times becomes unbearable for us as creatives, having to hone ideas to fit circumstances. Movement should always precede form and this project sums up this thought for me perfectly. Let the movement dictate the form”.
